OFFICIATE AATA IN UNIVERSITY TUN HUSSEIN ONN MALAYSIA BY CROWN PRINCE OF JOHOR

Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) is the first public university in the country to boast of an aviation academy which has been accredited by the Malaysian Civil Aviation Authority (CAAM), said its vice chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Wahid Razzaly.

Asia Aeronautical Training Academy (AATA) received the accreditation on Sept 6 after AATA was awarded the Certificate of Approval by CAAM, making the academy the fifth aviation training organisation to be recognised in Malaysia.

AATA with its headquarters at UTHM Parit Raja main campus materialised following the implementation of smart partnership between UTHM Holding Sdn Bhd (UHSB) and ATAS Aeronautik Sdn Bhd since January this year.

Through this cooperation, AATA was approved under the Malaysian Civil Aviation Regulations 2016, Rule 64 which offers aviation licensing training.

"Training to obtain Private Pilot Licence (PPL) for Aeroplane, Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) for Aeroplane, Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) Theoretical Knowledge, Instrument Rating for Aeroplane and Flight Instructor Course for Aeroplane will be among courses offered at AATA," he said in a statement here, today.

AATA headed by principal Captain Syaiful ´Alam Ismail, will operate from two locations namely the Parit Raja main campus and Senai International Airport.
